Our exciting Intensive Cruising Sailing Course 8 weeks program is an intensive and Comprehensive training. This is  designed to take you from the beginner level.  Leading you throughout the program, your skills will be fine-tuned as your awarenes and skills procede towards the Yachtmaster Offshore level. By the end of your training, when your skills are up to thereccommended  standard, you would be reccommended to become Yachmtaster offshre by RYA examniers. Our trainers  are professionals sailors. Within eight weeks of training, this program combines your personal attitude to sailing, your individual focus and natural skills and 8 weeks of practical sailing experience and shore-based training to lead you up to a safer approach to offshore sailing. The full course includes extensive practice in tidal waters in Atlantic or the Northern Sea. The course is ideal for those seeking a fast-track route to a professional sailing qualification.

Course Duration: 8 Weeks. 56 days.

• 25 October to 3 November: 10 days 
• 26 December to 5 January: 10 days
• 7-16 February: 10 days
• 21-23 February: 3 days [OPTIONAL FOR YOUR CALENDAR ADJUSTMENTS]
• 7 to 16 March: 10 days
• 4 to 6 April: 3 days [OPTIONAL FOR YOUR CALENDAR ADJUSTMENTS]
• 18 April to 5 May: 16 days

Pre-requisites : 18 years.

Certifications to be held by the end of week 8: GMDSS SRC, Diesel Engine Course (both available withing the 8 weeks training) and Elementary first aid.

Course Objectives:

• Set fundamental and advanced sailing skills
• Provide knowledge of navigation, meteorology, and seamanship
• Prepare you for Yachtmaster Coastal or/and Offshore exam
• Ensure confidence and competence in various sailing conditions, including in tidal waters

Course Structure:

Step 1 _ Setting Foundamentals – Competent Crew and Day Skipper Level 

From 25 October to 3 November: 10 days 

• Practice:
  • Introduction to sailing and basic seamanship
  • Boat handling under sail and power
  • Safety procedures and man overboard drills
  • Basic navigation and pilotage
  • Understanding weather forecasts and their impact on sailing
• Shore-Based:
  • Theory of navigation, including chart work and tides
  • Day Skipper theory course
  • Passage planning and collision regulations
  • Gmdss SRC exam available with our online course.  (Exam fee not included)
  • Diesel engine course and certificate

Step 2_ Strenghtening the basics and go towards Yachtmaster Coastal (including Tidal Waters Sailing)

from 26 December to 5 January AND from 7 to 16 February: 20 days

• Practice:
  • Advanced boat handling and sail trim
  • Coastal navigation and pilotage
  • Night sailing and watchkeeping
  • Sailing in tidal waters
  • Emergency procedures and advanced anchoring techniques
• Shore-Based:
  • Yachtmaster Coastal theory course
  • Meteorology and advanced navigation
  • Preparation for Yachtmaster Coastal exam
• Examination:
  • Yachtmaster Coastal practical exam (exam fees not included) [You must hold gmdss src and Elementary first aid]

Step 3_ Yachtmaster Offshore 

Form 7 to 16 March AND from 18 April to 5 May: 26 days

• Practice:
  • Offshore sailing and long passages
  • Watchkeeping rotation and crew management
  • Advanced navigation, including electronic systems
  • Heavy weather sailing techniques
  • Practical application of all previously learned skills
• Shore-Based:
  • Yachtmaster Offshore theory course
  • Detailed passage planning and execution
  • Advanced meteorology and oceanography
  • Preparation for Yachtmaster Offshore exam
• Examination:
  • Yachtmaster Offshore practical exam at the end of week 8 (exam fees  not included) [You must hold gmdss src and Elementary first aid]

Learning Materials:

• RYA student packs, books, navigation charts, visual aids, ships/buoys models and cards
• Safety equipment and sailing gear
• Access to electronic navigation tools and software

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the course and exams, you will receive:

• Competent Crew, GMDSS SRC, Diesel engine course, Day Skipper Certificate
• Yachtmaster Coastal Certification, including tidal water mileage
• Yachtmaster Offshore Certification

This course is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience, ensuring that participants gain the necessary skills and knowledge to achieve professional sailing qualifications within a condensed timeframe. Adjust the details according to your specific training program and resources.

Fees

Steps can be booked separately and 10% reduction on the 3rd step is applied for those booking the full training.

The price of the three steps is of 340€ per day and includes food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and accommodation on board, teaching materials, technical sailing gears, except boots or shoes and for each step also includes the following.

Step 1: 10 days. 3400€ : Competent Crew and Day skipper certificate of Competence, Diesel Engine Course certificate, GMDSS SRC (excluded tax fees 70£).

Step 2: 20 days. 6800€: Yachtmaster Coastal training material, on board personal safety equipment, access to RYA Examiner in the scheduled calemdar.

Step 3: 26 days. 8840€ Yachtmaster offshore training material, on board personal safety equipment, access to RYA Examiner in the scheduled calemdar.

NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE:

Flights, any ashore food, extra certification such as Professioanl Practices and Responsibilities, Commercial use of the certificate of competence, STCW certification, ENG1 or equivalent, postal expenses to receive the certificate, fast tracks. Examiner expenses for resits and resit fees.
